Skoda details future product through to 2027

Epiq and Vision 7S battery electric vehicles added to Skoda Australia’s future model list

20 Jun 2025

SKODA Australia has announced further details of its future product roll-out, adding the all-electric Epiq and Vision 7S (both pictured) to its growing catalogue of inbound models.

Speaking at the launch of the Superb Sportline in Canberra this week, Skoda Australia head of product and marketing Keiran Merrgian said that in addition to the Kodiaq PHEV and Superb PHEV (already known to be under evaluation for the local market), the battery electric duo would serve to greatly bolster the brand’s new energy transition.

“The Epiq will go into production in Europe early next year, and at this stage we are looking toward the end of next year or early 2027 for an Australian launch,” he announced.

“Included within that (BEV) space is the (production version of the) Vision 7S concept car, which we look forward to seeing in 2027.”

Likely to be plated as the Eviatiq, the production version of the Vision 7S will showcase Skoda’s Modern Solid design language, the seven-seat SUV (featuring an unusual six-plus-one seating arrangement in concept form) expected to compete against the likes of the Kia EV9 and Peugeot e-5008 in terms of size.

Underneath, it is understood the model will ride on the same MEB platform found under the Enyaq and Elroq, meaning it will likely offer an 86kWh battery pack, and choice of single- and dual-motor drivelines.

Meanwhile, the smaller Epiq electric SUV – which will sit below the Eviatiq, Elroq, and Enyaq in Skoda’s growing BEV line-up – will rival the likes of the incoming BYD Atto 2 and Kia EV3.

It shares architecture with the Volkswagen ID.2 and Cupra Raval and is promised to offer up to 400km driving range, though few other specification details have been confirmed.

Mr Merrigan also used the Superb launch stage to double down on Skoda’s commitment to launching plug-in and mild hybrid versions of its current range.

He said new energy variants are currently under evaluation and are expected to arrive within the next 12-18 months, estimating that we should see both the Kodiaq PHEV and Superb PHEV in showrooms “likely in the second half of next year”.

As reported by GoAuto previously, the Skoda Kodiaq PHEV and Superb PHEV will become the first Volkswagen Group products in Australia to utilise a new turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The 150kW driveline pairs a 110kW/250Nm petrol engine with an 85kW/330Nm electric motor mounted between the engine and a six-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission. A 19.7kWh (net) lithium-ion NMC battery mounted beneath the rear seats supports the drivetrain.

Both the Kodiaq and Superb plug-in hybrids are front-wheel drive only.

Electric range varies between the pair, with the Superb rated at 127–137km (WLTP) and the Kodiaq quoted at “over 100km”. A 45-litre fuel tank supports a total range exceeding 800km. Claimed 0-100km/h acceleration times are 8.1 and 8.4 seconds respectively.

Before those models arrive, Mr Merrigan said we can expect the Kodiaq RS to touch down “in August or September of 2025”, around the same time the just-announced Karoq 130 Years Edition lands in dealerships.

September will also see the arrival of the all-new Enyaq – which is now available to order – Mr Merrigan confirmed will be offered in both coupe and SUV body styles locally.

In what will undoubtedly be a busy period for the Bohemian brand, the Elroq EV is due in dealerships within the next 10-12 weeks, the mid-size model priced from $54,990 plus on-road costs.

Also based on the MEB platform, the model will be offered locally in Select 85 trim featuring a nickel-manganese-cobalt battery with 77.0kWh (net) capacity, 529km of claimed combined cycle driving range (WLTP), 175kW DC fast charging, and system output of 210kW/545Nm delivered to the rear wheels.

It will be topped by a flagship 130 Years Edition from $64,990 + ORC with comparable specifications, and a higher level of standard equipment. More details on the Skoda Elroq are available here.
