Sydney International EV Motor Show returns

Electric vehicle show heads to Sydney in October with over 100 models on display

16 Sep 2025

AS THE diversity and popularity of electric vehicles increases, so does the frequency of dedicated EV shows allowing Australian buyers the opportunity to get up close and personal with the latest and greatest electric vehicles on the market.

Headed to International Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICC) next month, the Sydney International EV Motor Show will debut a new format for would-be buyers, offering what organisers say is a range of models across all budgets.

Attendees will have the opportunity to test drive and buy electric vehicles at the event, with over 100 models on display. Brands confirmed for the October show include Farizon, Lotus, Polestar, Rolls-Royce, Smart, Volvo, Xpeng, and Zeekr.

“We are committed to a fully electric future,” said Volvo Car Australia managing director Stephen Connor.

“This year we have already introduced three new all-electric models to Australia, and to date our all-electric line-up equates to 40 per cent of our total volume.

“With our participation at the Sydney International EV Motor Show, we get the opportunity to showcase our electric line-up and spend time listening to and imparting our Volvo Cars people-first approach to all attendees wanting to experience and ultimately purchase an electric vehicle.”

Event organisers Future Drive say EVs continue to push into the Australian marketplace with Australian sales predicted to hit between 15-19 per cent in 2026.

Globally, sales are expected to hit 60 million, with the drive for EVs only increasing as time goes by.

Future Drive CEO Ray Evans says the three-day event is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors, proving that Australians are hungry for EV knowledge and options.

“This year we are delivering exactly what the market wants – hands-on experiences with over 100 vehicles, test drives, daily sessions, and a New Model Stage, plus expert insights and the opportunity to make informed decisions about electric mobility,” he said.

“We are proud to be Australia’s number one EV platform, engaging with visitors to discover, drive and buy.”

Mr Evans said electric vehicles present a sensible option for saving on transportation costs with most of the EVs on display ranging in price from $29,990 to $58,900.

“The growing popularity of EVs in Australia demonstrates the importance of presenting cleaner transport options to the public,” added Mr Evans.

“Not just economical, EVs also offer beautiful forms with designers rethinking shape and design due to the vehicles not requiring a large amount of space for a combustion engine.

“We are excited to have leading brands like Volvo showcasing their innovative electric line-up at the show.

“With the new Volvo ES90 sedan aligning with a shift to showcase new energy vehicles across the premium, luxury, performance and exotic segments which will be included for the first time at Sydney International EV Motor Show.

The Sydney International EV Motor Show opens on 31 October with ticket prices beginning at $35. More information is available at futuredriveauto.au/syd/ev25
