News - FordFord launches Pro Converter programFord Australia Pro Converter program aims at serious commercial customisation17 Oct 2025
FORD is taking aim at the commercial vehicle market, ahead of the launch of its heavy-hitter Super Duty model next year, offering industry-specific fit-out options through ‘Pro Converters’ around the country.
The Pro Converter program is aimed at industries like utilities, construction, emergency services and mining, which require specialised fit outs that would otherwise be undertaken by aftermarket body builders.
Now, customers can organise a suitable service body through a Ford dealership, meaning one point of contact for fleets and the guaranteed quality that is required from certified converters.
First cab off the rank will be the Ranger, but GoAuto understands that the program will grow to include other commercial vehicle models like the Transit Custom, and possibly even popular fleet runners like the Everest.
“Every business is different, and they all require their vehicles to be tailored to their unique needs, with the quality, professionalism, and peace of mind that allows them to get on with the job,” said Ford Australia and New Zealand chief executive and president Andrew Birkic.
The approved Pro Converters so far include Bull Motor Bodies, Duratray, Hidrive, Mits Alloy, Norweld, and XL Service Bodies, covering a range of fit-out options from trays to service bodies.
On Ford’s official Pro Converter website, it offers information for would-be converters that wish to apply, suggesting the number of authorised builders is likely to grow.
“We have meticulously selected and certified our Ford Pro Convertors, ensuring they meet Ford Pro Convertor standards and cater to the needs of a wide range of customers,” added Ford Australia general manager of fleet Michael Elias.
The Pro Converter program will run alongside the Blue Oval’s more consumer-focused ARB partnership, which gives customers the chance to have the aftermarket supplier’s accessories fitted at the time of purchase – and they’re covered by Ford’s five-year warranty.
Like the ARB partnership, Ford has confirmed that fitouts will carry a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and speaking with GoAuto the company confirmed fitment will be handled by the authorised converters but will be organised at a dealer level.
Ford also confirmed that the program will be open to existing owners, but the body fitted will carry the remaining warranty associated with a customer’s vehicle.
The announcement comes as Ford gears up to launch its hardcore Ranger Super Duty in 2026, featuring a hefty 4500kg GVM and 8000kg GCM to rival light truck options.
While the standard Ranger stands to benefit from the Pro Converter program, the Super Duty variant will open the door to truck-like fit-out options for industries like mining, utilities, and emergency services. ![]() Read more |
