Revised VW Polo range now offers a diesel, while Sydney also hosts an updated Beetle25 Oct 2005 VOLSWAGEN has added a turbo-diesel variant to its revised Polo line-up, which also includes a choice of 55kW or 74kW 1.4-litre petrol engines in either three- or five-door configurations. Priced from $22,990, the 1.9-litre turbo-diesel develops 74kW/240Nm and comes with ABS as standard. Petrol model prices start from $16,990 for the three-door and $19,990 for the five-door. All three models have improved standard equipment, including semi-automatic air-conditioning.Other models of interest on the Volkswagen stand in Sydney last week was the new Multivan Business LCV-based six-seater people-mover, which is now available, and a 1.9Tdi Caddy Life seven-seat people-mover due for release earlynext year. A revised Beetle was also shown, it too offering the option of (1.9-litre) turbo-diesel power for the first time and a host of subtle outer-skin and specvariations. Pricing starts from $25,990 for the manual 1.6 New Beetle Miami, $28,490 for the 1.9 TDI and $36,990 for the 2.0 Cabriolet.
