LDV Terron 9 priced for Australia

July arrival for new LDV Terron 9 ute range, priced from $50,990 d/a for ABN holders

30 Jun 2025

THE LDV Terron 9 ute range has been detailed for Australia ahead of its July arrival in local dealerships, with a $50,990 drive-away opening ticket for ABN holders plus another grand off for early adopters.

It will sell alongside the T60 in the Chinese importer’s local range, promising a new-from-the-ground-up utility with more space, comfort, and technology than the T60.

Two model grades arrive initially, the entry-level Origin at $50,990 d/a and the Evolve from $55,990 d/a for ABN holders.

As part of a limited-time launch promotion, LDV will offer the Terron 9 duo from $49,990 d/a and $54,990 d/a respectively, assuming the purchaser holds a current ABN (private buyers pay $53,674 and $58,937).

Comparable in size to the GWM Cannon Alpha (from $51,990 d/a), the new LDV Terron 9 measures 5500mm from end to end, is 1997mm wide, 1874mm tall, and 3300mm in wheelbase. Ground clearance is listed at 220mm and the turning circle 13.3m.

LDV quotes a water wading depth of 550mm for the Terron 9 alongside a 29-degree approach angle, 20-degree breakover angle, and 25-degree departure angle.

Depending on variant, the model tips the scales at 2495kg, allowing a payload of up to 1100kg. These figures contribute to a GVM of 3500kg and GCM of 6500kg, meaning a braked towing capacity of 3500kg is permissible.

Both Terron 9 variants are powered by a revised turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine developing 163kW/520Nm. It is paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The combination is said to offer a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 7.9 litres per 100km.

As with most dual-cab utilities, the LDV Terron 9 is suspended by a coil front / leaf rear arrangement and is stopped by four-wheel disc brakes (several utes still use rear drums).

Elsewhere, standard equipment levels are generous with the Terron 9 Origin’s 18-inch alloy wheels and highway-rated tyres complemented by a full-size matching alloy spare wheel, while a tow hitch and wiring harness are also included along with a rear differential lock, spray-in bed liner, a locking and spring-assisted tailgate, black roof rails, side steps, rain-sensing wipers, and dusk-sensing bi-LED headlights.

Inside is cloth upholstery with six-way powered adjustment for the front seats, dual USB-A and dual USB-C power outlets, a 12-volt power socket, and dual 12.3-inch instrumentation and infotainment displays, the latter offering AM/FM and DAB+ digital radio reception, four-speaker sound, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The flagship Terron 9 Evolve adds to or replaces those features with 20-inch alloy wheels, front and rear differential locks, trailer back-up assistance, auto-folding exterior mirrors, cargo rails and bed lighting, ambient cabin lighting, eight-way powered front seat adjustment, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, heated rear outboard seats, and an eight-speaker JBL premium audio bundle.

Irrespective of grade, the Terron 9 offers what LDV says is a comprehensive list of safety and driver assistance technologies.

These include front, side, curtain and centre airbags, a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot monitoring, door exit warning, driver attention alert, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure and keeping assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring, and both ISOFIX (x2) and top-tether (x3) child-seat anchorages.

Colour options include White as a no-cost alternative to metallic and premium hues (+$500), including Black, Concrete Grey, Desert Yellow, Jewel Blue, and Spruce Green.

LDV backs the Terron 9 range with a seven-year/200,000km warranty. Scheduled servicing is set at 12 months or 10,000km (whichever comes first) for the first service, with subsequent servicing defaulting to 12-month / 15,000km intervals.

“We want to make sure when a ute buyer walks into an LDV showroom, we have a vehicle that offers value across a range of price points,” said LDV Australia general manager Dinesh Chinnappa.

“We are not going to leave our traditional ute buyers behind. Rather, the LDV Terron ute series will broaden our offering across the ute segment.

“We have seen the ute market evolve in recent years, including in the tradie and workhorse space.

“These customers work hard and are often on the road all day, and they appreciate space and comfort as much as family buyers do. So, the new-generation LDV Terron 9 has been developed to reflect the changing demands on these vehicles.

“Workhorse no longer means compromise. With the new-generation LDV Terron 9 we are bringing new levels of space and comfort to the ute segment.”
