Audi prices Q6 and SQ6 Sportback e-tron

AUDI Australia has announced pricing for its Q6 and SQ6 Sportback e-tron this week, the sleek five-door SUV offered in a total of three guises, priced from $99,900 plus on-road costs.

As is the case elsewhere in the Q6 e-tron range, the Sportback line-up will commence with a rear-wheel drive grade before stepping up to the mid-tier Q6 Sportback quattro (all-wheel drive), followed by the performance focused flagship, the SQ6 Sportback (also with all-wheel drive).

The all-electric trio is said to combine SUV-like versatility with coupe elegance, the rakish body style offering an exceptionally low drag coefficient of 0.26Cd, allowing the Q6 Sportback e-tron to achieve a driving range of up to 585km (WLTP).

Audi’s PPE platform combines an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture and sophisticated thermal management system to deliver what the German importer says is exceptional charging performance across all variants. Under ideal conditions, the battery pack may be charged at up to 270kW (DC), allowing a 10-80 per cent recharge in 21 minutes.

The entry point into the Q6 Sportback e-tron range is powered by a single electric motor on the rear axle, delivering 185kW of continuous power, rising to 215kW with launch control engaged, and 450Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100km/h is quoted at 7.0 seconds with launch control in use.

A high level of standard specification is offered, mirroring that of the Q6 SUV. Highlights for the Q6 Sportback e-tron include 19-inch alloy wheels, full body paint finishing, Matrix LED headlighting, a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, 11.9-inch digital instrument screen, and a dedicated 10.9-inch passenger display.

Leather appointed upholstery with front and outboard rear heating is likewise standard, as is a heated steering wheel, and tri-zone climate control.

The Q6 Sportback also includes the e-tron sport sound system, a 64-litre front luggage compartment (frunk), an AC charging port, and a Type 2 to Type 2 public charging cable.

For the mid-tier Q6 Sportback quattro (from $127,500) we find dual electric motors (one per axle) delivering 285kW of power and 580Nm of torque to the rear wheels and 275Nm to the front. Acceleration from 0-100km/h is quoted at 5.9 seconds.

The variant adds a suite of S line exterior and interior enhancements that “further elevate its presence and refinement”, including S line bumpers with contrasting accents in dark selenite silver, S line badging, and larger 21-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin gains leather-appointed seats with S embossing and contrasting stitching, a black headliner, stainless steel pedals, and an S-specific multifunction steering wheel with perforated leather sides, and flat-top and bottom design.

Like its rear-wheel drive Sportback sibling, this model also benefits from Audi’s full suite of next-generation digital displays and assistance systems, as well as ambient interior lighting, a heated steering wheel, and memory function for the driver’s seat.

Finally, at the top of the range, is the SQ6 Sportback (from $156,400). The most powerful Q6 variant inAustralia is equipped with dual motors producing 360kW (rising to 380kW with launch control) to enable a 0-100km/h time of 4.3 seconds (quoted).

Other variant highlights include adaptive air suspension, S-specific styling cues, including matt aluminium and selenite silver accents, black metallic, gloss-turned finish 21-inch Audi Sport wheels, red brake callipers, and an electrically opening panoramic sunroof.

Further inclusions extend to OLED rear lighting, front door window acoustic glazing, rear privacy glass, sport seats in Nappa leather, massage functionality up front, an electrically adjustable steering column, colour ambient lighting with dynamic interaction strip, and an augmented reality head-up display which features “special HUD games for the gadget-inclined”.

Audiophiles will enjoy the standard Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System that Audi says delivers “exceptional audio quality”.

In terms of safety, the Q6 Sportback range is backed by a full suite of Audi’s latest assistance features. Highlights include a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, park assist plus, proactive occupant protection, Audi side assist, lane departure warning with emergency assist, and nine airbags, including a front centre airbag.

Speed sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring, and rear occupant detection are likewise included.

All models within the Audi Q6 e-tron range are backed by six years of roadside assistance, a five-year warranty, and 12 years manufacturing warranty for bodywork against corrosion.

The high voltage battery is warranted for eight years or 160,000km (whichever comes first).

Six-year service plans are available from $2080.
