As expected, Porsche reveals a base Cayman coupe, priced at $118,000 and due August23 May 2006 PORSCHE has surprised nobody by revealing an entry-level 180kW/273Nm 2.7-litre variant of its Cayman coupe. Due on sale in Australia in August, the base Cayman will be priced at $118,000 - $10,400 more than the similarly-engined Boxster roadster and $30,500 less than the 3.4-litre Cayman S coupe.  Simply called Cayman, the mid-engined two-seater is claimed to complete the 0-100km/h sprint in 6.1 seconds on its way to a 258km/h top speed.Fuel consumption is rated in Europe at 9.3L/100km for the five-speed manual, while a five-speed Tiptronic S auto and a six-speed manual (in conjunction with PASM active suspension) will be optional. Other specifications remain similar to that of the Cayman S, with the exception of staggered-width 17-inch alloy wheels.
