Nissan unwraps Patrol Nismo

More power, improved dynamics for Y63-series Nissan Patrol Nismo; Australia a ‘maybe’

25 Jun 2025

NISSAN has taken the covers off its Y63-series Patrol Nismo in Dubai this week, the sporty SUV receiving a swathe of chassis and performance alterations, including a 52kW uptick in engine power from Nissan’s venerable twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre petrol V6.

With 369kW – and an unchanged 700Nm – at its disposal, the 2025 Nissan Patrol Nismo also offers a richer exhaust note, recalibrated nine-speed automatic transmission, sharpened steering, and lowered suspension (-49mm).

The fettled specification list adds to visual and equipment upgrades including 22-inch Rays forged alloy wheels, high-performance tyres, a newly styled front bumper cover, uprated aero package, signature red Nismo accenting, and a Formula E-inspired rear fog light.

Nissan will offer the flagship Patrol variant in five paint colours, including an exclusive Stealth Grey hue that joins Black Pearl, Blue Metallic, Grey Metallic, and White Pearl finishes. All are available with a contrasting black roof.

“Since the introduction of the first Patrol Nismo in 2015, our customers have continually valued its mix of performance, exclusivity, and craftsmanship,” said Nissan and Infiniti Middle East president Thierry Sabbagh.

“This all-new model was developed from the ground up utilising customer insights from across the Middle East.

“It has been rigorously tested in the region’s most challenging environments, underlining the significance of this market to Nissan.

“With its race-inspired styling and powerful 495hp engine, the all-new Patrol Nismo offers the thrilling sensation of a sports car while maintaining the commanding presence of an SUV, an ultimate icon with unmatched edge and authenticity.

“Building on the legacy of its predecessors, the all-new Patrol Nismo is purpose-built for those who seek exhilaration without compromise.”

With seating for up to eight occupants, the cabin of the Nissan Patrol Nismo is characterised by a black-and-red décor with contrasting stitch work across the dashboard, door cards, and steering wheel. Carbon-fibre and metallic accenting is found throughout, with the upholstery featuring a honeycomb-quilted blend of leather and suede.

The ignition button and seatbelts are finished in red, along with Nismo logos and seatbelts. The throttle and brake pedals are faced with aluminium.

While the Australian market is still 18 months away from receiving the new Y63-series Patrol, Nissan Australia said it is open to considering the Nismo variant, potentially as an on-road adjunct to the immensely popular – and off-road focused – Patrol Warrior.

“It’s very exciting to see the unveil of Y63 Patrol Nismo,” a company spokesperson told GoAuto.

“Australia is confirmed as the first right-hand drive market for Y63 Patrol with orders due to open in late 2026. We will confirm specification closer to the launch.”
