First look: Ford crosses Equator at Tokyo

LIKE it did at Frankfurt, the Blue Oval will flex some muscle in Tokyo with a new concept vehicle – this time, a new compact four-wheel drive wagon it calls the Equator.

Not to be confused with Ford’s Equator SUV truck concept shown in 2000, this latest design is softer, friendlier and points to the next-generation small 4WDs shared between Ford (Escape) and Mazda (Tribute).

Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6.
